L.A. MARS (they/them/theirs) is a nonbinary theatremaker trained in artistic administration, stage direction, and stage management. They specialize in facilitating new work and art as a vehicle for social change. Mars was a member of Drexel University’s Custom-Design Major program housed within the Pennoni Honors College. Following acceptance into this interdisciplinary program, they designed their course of study around the managerial, technical, and creative aspects of theatre, film, and television. Throughout higher education, Mars supplemented education with practical experience. As such, they have been a working artist since 2014. Previous roles include Producer (Meredith Corporation), Studio Manager (Jeff Riedel Photography), and Artistic Director (AMA Development & Management). Their recent work as a theatre director has been seen in New York City, across the East Coast, and internationally. They are a member of A.R.T/New York and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Mars is also a co-founder of Wolfsmouth Players Company, and currently serves as Co-Artistic Director of the ensemble. Volunteer work includes Nutley Little Theatre and Out Montclair.
