The Legacy Project – A Dance of Hope for Holocaust Education and Awareness Week

Wednesday, May 8th

Charlotte Country Day School, Gorelick Family Theater

1440 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226

The acclaimed “Legacy Project” is Carolyn Dorfman’s tribute to her parents’ survival and gives voice to those who were silenced in the Holocaust. Dorfman draws on her rich Jewish legacy to create a dance about “survival, resilience, and memory,” work that is honestly personal and yet powerfully universal. Founded by Artistic Director Carolyn Dorfman, a child of Holocaust survivors, this nationally and internationally respected contemporary modern dance company, based in New Jersey and New York, is celebrating its 40th anniversary season and first dance residency in Charlotte. Carolyn Dorfman Dance is honored to participate in Holocaust Education and Awareness Week. Holocaust Education and Awareness Week seeks to address rising antisemitism and Holocaust denial in America by engaging multiple communities of faith and ethnicity in Holocaust education and awareness through the power of dance. For more information, please call Charlotte Country Day School at 704-943-4500.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance welcomes all audiences to performances and events. If you require an accommodation or service (i.e. ASL, Large Print Program, etc.), please contact Carolyn Dorfman Dance at 908-687-8855 at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event. info@carolyndorfman.dance.
