Carolyn Dorfman Dance invites you to audition for our 2022-23 season. BIPOC (Black, Indigenous,  People of Color) dancers are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should submit a video, resume/bio, and headshot. Selected dancers will be invited for an in-person audition on June 21-23, 2022, at Peridance Center – 126 E 13th St, New York, NY 10003. Dancers must be fully vaccinated, including the first booster. (COVID-19 may influence where auditions and, subsequently, rehearsals are held.)
Carolyn Dorfman Dance mission is to create and present work that shares the uniqueness and commonalities of the human story. Maintaining a vibrant and diverse company of dancers is essential to our art, philosophy and commitment to creating a just, inclusive and equitable community.

The Company’s 2022-2023 Touring Season includes creation of new work, repertory reconstruction, performance/touring, and teaching/community residencies. This opportunity includes:

  • Full-time/part-time company positions beginning early August 2022
  • Non-union, Minimum 25 week contract
  • Rehearsals in NYC and NJ
  • Legal work status verification

The Company is seeking dedicated, passionate and committed dancers (especially Black, Indigenous, People Of Color) with a strong contemporary, modern dance and ballet technique; bold athleticism, a broad theatrical range, strong ensemble and partnering skills, with a strong desire for artistic growth. At least 3 years of professional performance experience is preferred.
