Dance Union Festival

Join Carolyn Dorfman Dance for the second annual Dance Union Festival, in partnership with Union County Performing Arts Center and Buggé Ballet – celebrating the unique and diverse dance community across Union County.

This arts program is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of  Chosen Freeholders.

Ballet I & II: 9:15 – 10:45 am
Modern I & II: 10:45 am – 12:15 pm

Open to Union County high school dance students, participants will take technique classes with Carolyn Dorfman (Contemporary Modern) and Nicole Buggé (Ballet).

Join Carolyn Dorfman Dance for a narrated open rehearsal and inside look into the art, artists, and process of the festival’s performance on Sunday, February 3rd. Free and open to Union County Schools and community groups, grades 4 and up.

Community Dance Day

Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am & 12:45 pm

No dance experience required! Enjoy a fun movement class that combines Pilates, Zumba, Hip Hop, and more.

The Dance Union multi-company performance includes Carolyn Dorfman Dance’s groundbreaking new work Snap Crackle Pop, co-choreographed with Renée Jaworski, co-Artistic Director of internationally renowned PILOBOLUS.

The program also features performances from:

Dance Companies– Carolyn Dorfman Dance, Buggé Ballet, Contento Dance, The Well Performance Project, and LeAnn Yannelli Dance;

Dance Studios– Harmony Dance Center and Susie Karlik’s Dance Sensation;

High School Dance Programs– Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy, Cranford High School, Plainfield High School, Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy, and Union County Academy for Performing Arts;

with a special presentation from the Union County ARC.
