Carmella Taitt is from Brooklyn, New York with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from George Mason University.  Her dance training initiated with West African and Jazz at the Restoration Youth Arts Academy. Later on, Carmella joined the Dance Theatre of Harlem School as a scholarship student. Afterwards, her enrollment to the Professional Performing Arts High School, was the beginning of her training at the Alvin Ailey School. Simultaneously, Carmella also joined the Jr. Division department of the Alvin Ailey School as a scholarship student. In addition, Carmella has been awarded scholarships from summer intensives including the Earl Mosley Institute of the Arts, Creative Outlet, Alvin Ailey, New York Dance Project, and Rioult. Carmella has performed in works by Bill T Jones, Hope Boykin, Baba Chuck Davis, Susan Shields, Clifton Brown, Earl Mosley, Christian Von Howard, and others. Under the direction of Winston Brown, Carmella has performed with The DynamitExperience.  As a choreographer, Carmella’s works have been performed at the Virginia Town Hall, Ailey Citigroup Theatre, and the Center for the Arts.
