Dominique Dobransky (she/her) is an American-Belgian dancer currently based in New York City. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ailey School/Fordham University with a BFA in Dance and Creative Writing. Dominique has danced with Didy Veldman’s London-based company Humanoove and has performed in Mumbai, India for an international production by Nikos Lagousakos. She has worked and collaborated with companies including Yoshito Sakuraba’s Abarukas, Gregory Dolbashian’s The Dash Ensemble, Mitzi Adams’ Adams Company Dance, Lane Gifford’s LaneCoArts, and Kristen Klein’s Inclined Dance Project. She has performed works by choreographers including Cayetano Soto, Ronald K. Brown, Alvin Ailey, David Parsons, Juel D. Lane, Earl Mosley, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Adam Barruch, Lakey-Evans Peña, Kat Pantos, Betsi Graves, Levi Marsman, Maxine Steinman, Amy Hall Garner, and others. Dominique furthered her training through programs including the School at Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Program, BODYTRAFFIC, Alexandra Damiani, GALLIM, The Movement Invention Project, and VIM VIGOR. Her choreography has been presented at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, where she received the Suzanna Cohen Legacy Foundation award for The Compass (You Are Here). Her writing has appeared in The Dance Enthusiast, (un)common sense, and CURA: A Literary Magazine of Art and Action. Dominique teaches Pilates and is also certified to teach the Horton Technique. She has worked as a guest teacher/choreographer at several dance studios and schools in NYC and New England. Dominique is a bilingual, dual citizen of the USA and Belgium, and is passionate about cultural exchange, writing, travel, interdisciplinary collaborations, and storytelling.
The 2025-2026 season is Dominique’s fifth season with Carolyn Dorfman Dance.
