A Message from Carolyn:
Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration Camps in 1945.
It is both my honor and responsibility to share my family’s story — and the stories of countless others who endured the horrors of the Holocaust, the struggle of immigration to America, and the destructiveness of antisemitism, bigotry, racism, and simple the fear of the “other.” And still, yesterday’s history has become today’s explosive and ugly reality.
Only we have the power to change what happens next.
Through our works, including those in The Legacy Project: Dances of Hope, our education programs, and our residencies, we affirm the power of each one of us to create change through positive action and standing up for justice and humanity for all.
