The acclaimed “Legacy Project” is Carolyn Dorfman’s tribute to her parents’ survival and gives voice to those who were silenced in the Holocaust. Dorfman draws on her rich Jewish legacy to create a dance about “survival, resilience, and memory,” work that is honestly personal and yet powerfully universal. Founded by Artistic Director Carolyn Dorfman, a child of Holocaust survivors, this nationally and internationally respected contemporary modern dance company, based in New Jersey and New York, is celebrating its 40th anniversary season and first dance residency in Charlotte. Carolyn Dorfman Dance is honored to participate in Holocaust Education and Awareness Week. Holocaust Education and Awareness Week seeks to address rising antisemitism and Holocaust denial in America by engaging multiple communities of faith and ethnicity in Holocaust education and awareness through the power of dance.
