Carolyn Dorfman Dance returns to NJPAC in Newark on Thursday, May 14, at 7:30 PM with
the world premiere of Dorfman’s newest work, The Hero Within: The Story of Max Heller, Mary
Mills and Miracles. The evening, that is co-produced by NJPAC, illustrates the extraordinary
impact of individual acts and The Hero Within is the true story of two lives bound by bravery,
compassion, and defiance in the face of injustice.
The program also features ECHAD, Dorfman’s internationally acclaimed masterpiece, exploring the delicate balance between the individual and community and, NOW, created by choreographer Juel D. Lane (one of Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch), a high-energy work that celebrates the moments that define us.
